Hello stitchers! Today I have a fun hand stitching + felt project to share with you! I love all things fabric + stitching + floss + buttons so felt projects are right up my alley! I combined some dies from my paper crafting stash with felt, buttons, crochet thread, and polyester fiberfill to make these colorful Christmas trees! I strung my trees together to make a banner but you could use these individually as gift tags or tree ornaments really easily!

I’ve been waiting for this! This is so darn adorable. For some reason felt just screams Christmas to me – and stitched felt even more so. Must be something in my childhood. Maybe a grandparent’s tree. Who knows?! I’m planning on making a garland for my mantle but wasn’t sure how I was going to string it. Thanks to you, now I know!
Yes, your blanket stitch is correct. I used to hand applique on dresses and sweatshirts for my daughter when she was little (way back in the 90’s). Those were the days! Anyway, thank you for the video and enjoy your garland!
Nichol, I love your tree banner! The blanket stitching absolutely makes the trees! I can picture a banner made of felt leaves for autumn or easter eggs for spring, etc. One for all seasons. Thanks for the inspiration, as always.
Nicole,
Such an adorable tree banner. I am a papercrafter that enjoys your christmas tag series. After watching you sew felt ornaments, I think I will give it a try. Thanks for helping me think of a whole new use for my metal dies.
