Making the Cut: Bold Die-Cut Florals on a Dark Background
by nicholspohr
Welcome to the August edition of Making the Cut for Simon Says Stamp! This month I’m creating a bold floral thank you card using some of my favorite Simon Says Stamp dies, stamps, and inks. I’ll share how adding ink over colored cardstock creates beautiful shading, how to select colors for a rich, moody palette, and my favorite technique for creating dramatic shadow layers by slightly offsetting black die cuts behind both the florals and sentiment. These simple techniques add incredible depth and dimension while allowing those bold colors to shine against a dark background.
