Today I’m sharing a set of nature-inspired layered scene cards featuring one of my favorite techniques: creating a “scene within a scene” using pattern paper. When the background paper is this beautiful, I want to showcase it, not cover it up, so I used basic rectangle dies to isolate the exact section I wanted, built a dimensional frame around it, and then added a simple focal point with a deer silhouette. The final touch is a stamped acetate overlay with snowflakes and a sentiment, which adds depth and movement without hiding the scene underneath. I love this approach because it turns even scraps of pattern paper into high-impact focal panels, and it’s a technique you can use again and again across seasons and themes!
