Simply Stars Quilt Along Week 1: Origami Blocks

November 16, 2022 by nicholspohr

Hello quilters!

As part of my new blogging home here on the web (with extra categories found along the top of the page), I am going to be sharing some of my other hobbies like quilting and cross stitch! I am super excited to announce that I am sewing along with Fat Quarter Shop for their Simply Stars QAL based on their brand new Simply Half Yards Book!

Be sure and download the free PDF download from FQS for this quilt along HERE. You will need the Simply Half Yards Book in order to sew this quilt.

I am sewing my quilt with Camille Roskelley’s brand new Dwell Collection. I decided to go with only the greens and blues in this collection for this quilt.

Fat Quarter Shop is releasing a cutting guide/pattern each week, so people can return to the blog or visit the supplies page to view that each Wednesday.

Here’s a look at my Origami Blocks for Week 1:

So very pretty with those colors and patterns in the material. When my daughter got married I sent a white block to all the people coming to her shower and made them make a quilt block of what she meant to them. They could use any medium. Her colors were white and silver so when completed, I constructed it, backed it with silver and then put silver bows on the front. It was so special.
