June is wedding season, and the Spellbinders Classic Mouse Wedding Collection is filled with charming products for celebrating life’s happiest occasions. For today’s card, I paired the Happiest Place Press Plate, Classic Mouse Wedding Dies, and Classic Mouse Wedding Sentiments Press Plate and Dies to create an elegant wedding card with a timeless black-and-white aesthetic.
I began by foiling the Happiest Place Press Plate on a 4” x 5¼” panel of Windy Cardstock using white foil. The white-on-blue design creates a soft, elegant background while allowing the focal images to remain the stars of the card. After foiling, I used the 3-in-1 Notched Corner Punch to notch each corner of the panel before adhering it to a white A2 card base. Small Onyx Gems were added to each corner for a touch of sparkle and to help frame the design.
For the focal images, I die cut all of the pieces from the Classic Mouse Wedding Dies using an assortment of black, gray, ivory, vellum, and specialty white cardstocks. Keeping the color palette largely monochromatic creates a beautiful vintage-inspired look reminiscent of classic black-and-white photographs. The only pop of color comes from the red accents, which help bring the adorable characters to life while maintaining the elegant feel of the design.
After assembling the die-cut images, I adhered them to the card front and turned my attention to the sentiments. The Classic Mouse Wedding Sentiments were foiled on another piece of Windy Cardstock using matte silver foil and die cut with the coordinating dies. I selected two sentiments and adhered them with foam adhesive for added dimension and visual interest.
I love how the combination of white foil, matte silver foil, soft blue cardstock, and the classic monochromatic die-cut elements creates a sophisticated wedding card that still feels playful and full of personality.
